Compared to other moving customers, fewer people included in our survey selected JK Moving because of affordability reasons. Yet, average moving costs for JK Moving customers came to $1,966.70—which was about $80 less than the average across all companies. However, that wasn’t controlled for factors like distance traveled or services involved.
It’s worth noting that JK Moving requires in-person or virtual assessments before providing binding quotes. Although this is a bit more time-consuming, it resulted in the best final moving cost accuracy scores for any company we reviewed, with 92% of JK Moving customers saying they paid zero or minimal extra fees. (Another 5% couldn’t remember if their final cost was different than their quote.)
During our research process, the Forbes Home team got quotes from leading moving companies for a local move scenario (Brooklyn, New York, to Summit, New Jersey) and a long-distance move (Brooklyn to Charlotte, North Carolina).
