A large private research university at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the University of Denver encourages exploration for its students—both inside and outside the classroom. DU offers more than 100 degree programs across 10 colleges and schools. The university also offers a number of dual degree programs, with business among the most popular programs. The Carnegie Classification recognizes DU as a Very High Research University (or "R1"). More than 70% of undergraduates study abroad, with over 50 countries represented
under DU’s study abroad program. University of Denver’s 125-acre tree-lined campus is located 15 minutes away from Downtown Denver. The NCAA Division I Pioneers have won more than 30 national championships. Campus traditions include the Crimson & Gold Awards to recognize DU community members, celebrating the first snow of the season, and the Hockey Campout, where students are camped outside in hopes of winning free Hockey Tickets to home games.
