My cat, Mr. Meowzer, is a free spirit who comes and goes as he pleases. Feeling drowsy on a summer afternoon, he chooses to nap on my bed with an expression that says "Not today".

Summer temperatures and lack of water this year took its toll on some flowers, I came across this Tiger Lily just after a quick downpour, definitely made for a fantastic photo opportunity-HMM

Only this last weekend and then the holidays for this summer has come to his end. A last memory of the beautiful poppies. Now I have to wait until next year before I can see them again.

Heliopsis ‘Summer Nights’. Taken with vintage Zuiko 2/90 macro lens.
Heliopsis helianthoides (Oxeye sunflower or False sunflower) is a perennial flowering plant in the aster family, native to North America.
One of the best things about Summer, apart from the sun, are Sunflowers. Easy to grow, this one I grew from seeds in wild bird food. They generally produce lots of flowers big and small from mid June onwards.
