Ashok Selvam is the former James Beard Award-winning regional editor for Eater’s Midwest region, and in charge of coverage in Chicago, Detroit, and the Twin Cities. A graduate of Syracuse University, he’s a native Chicagoan who had been with Eater since 2014. Prior, he covered health care for Crain’s Modern Healthcare, and was a GA reporter at the Daily Herald in suburban Chicago. He doesn’t understand why folks disagree about pizza, but he will judge you for ketchup on a hot dog. He actually drinks Malört for the taste.
