Organization pages
Changing ownership of an organization page
Every organization profile is owned by a single user. If that user has left the organization or you need to change the owner of the profile for any reason, you can request a change of ownership to a new user.
To request a change of ownership:
- Ensure that your user account has a confirmed email address that matches your company domain.
- Open an issue in the content issue queue requesting a change of ownership
- The change will be reviewed by site moderators
If you prefer to make the ownership change request privately, you can also send your request to help@drupal.org. Again, please send it from an email address that matches your company domain.
Policy for organizations no longer providing services
There are any number of reasons why an organization may no longer offer Drupal services. The organization may have had a change of internal strategy, merged with another organization, or closed its doors. Regardless of the reason for the change, this is the policy that Drupal Association staff and volunteer site moderators should adhere to when moderating such profiles on Drupal.org.
If the organization is not listed in the Drupal.org marketplace
If the organization is not listed as a service provider in the Drupal.org marketplace, the organization profile can continue to be included in the drupal.org/organizations view, which shows all organizations listed on Drupal.org. The profile and its presence on this listing of organizations ensures historical recognition of the organization's contributions to Drupal.
If the organization is listed in the Drupal.org marketplace
If the organization is listed as a service provider, but is no longer accepting new client inquiries, it should be removed from the marketplace, but be left active in the general organization listings. It is important that no staff member or volunteer make this change without first taking the following steps:
- Contact the organization profile owner, or organization leadership, to confirm that new client inquiries are no longer being accepted.
- Staff members or webmasters can find this person as the node author on the organization profile, or by searching the people listed as members of the organization.
- When contacting the profile owner or other organization leader, allow two weeks for a response.
- After the organization confirms that services are no longer being offered to new clients:
- Edit the organization profile to uncheck the boxes which list that profile in the various marketplace sections - services, training, hosting.
- Do not unpublish the organization profile entirely, unless the organization leaders have requested it.
- Make sure to use the revision history notes to document why the change is being made.
