Sharon Osbourne has revealed the reason for her feud with former X Factor co-worker Simon Cowell.

Earlier this week, Sharon said that she was no longer in contact with Simon, calling him "snotty" and saying he only wants to hang around "his little posse" of close friends.

During Friday's (March 8) Celebrity Big Brother episode, Sharon told Louis Walsh that she was unable to take up an offer to appear on the first season of The Masked Singer US, as she was contracted for a season of The X Factor that was ultimately scrapped.

"I missed a huge gig. That's why I was furious. I went mad when they told me and then he called me," she recalled.

Sharon said that she was "fuming" about the situation, and told Simon so in their phone call.

The X Factor season she was supposed to judge on was ultimately cancelled, but it was too late for her to take the other job in America.

Sharon also complained about Simon's trademark black T-shirts, saying he'd been "wearing the same thing for almost three decades".

Asked by Louis if there was a chance she'd work with Simon again, Sharon claimed she wouldn't do it for "all the money in the world".

The former X Factor judges also admitted they'd disliked the artifice that went into the show, with Louis confessing that he got bored with hearing the personal stories of the contestants.

The X Factor was shelved in 2021, but Simon has repeatedly expressed interest in refreshing the format for either the UK or the US (where the series only had a brief run for a few years).

Digital Spy has reached out to representatives for Simon for a response to Sharon and Louis's comments on Celebrity Big Brother.

Celebrity Big Brother airs Sundays through Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, followed by Late & Live on ITV2 immediately following each new episode.
