Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas has updated fans on his health as he struggles with a chronic health condition.
Last year, the Waterloo Road actor opened up publicly after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a condition that causes pain and swelling in an individual's joints.
Reflecting on the difficulties he’s faced since his symptoms began, Adam’s now detailed how he’s coping with the pain.

Taking to Instagram, Adam shared a collection of photos from a recent medical appointment and explained how he’s trying to ease his symptoms.
"Little update on my arthritis journey so far," he captioned the post. "So, been in and out of hospital for a while now, tried all sorts of medications and painkillers. But nothing's really working, so time to try something new.
"Today I had steroid injections which really helped ease the pain and inflammation last time, so hopefully it will do the same until my prescription arrives for the new medication.
"I will be trying a disease-modifying drug, which I will then take (if it works) for the rest of my life or until I go into remission. It’s been a long and hard battle and as of yet nothing has worked, but I’m hopeful!"

The former Emmerdale star went on to detail the challenging journey he’s endured in recent months, explaining why he feels it’s so important to be honest about his situation.
"I’ve suffered just over a year with arthritis and I have to say it’s been the toughest period of my life to date," Adam confessed. "I’m a firm believer of everything happening for a reason, but I don’t really have the answer to that just yet.
"If I’m being completely honest… I’m suffering… I don’t think I want to suffer in silence no more."
This comes after Adam's health struggles caused him to miss an episode of his podcast Mancs with a Mic back in December, with his brothers Scott and Ryan having to host without him.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
