About Dalslands konstmuseum
The museum
The museum building is based on ecological principles with natural materials that blend into the surrounding environment.
Inside the museum, opened in 1995, there is a permanent collection of traditional Dalsland design objects and art, and three different galleries for temporary exhibitions. The museum is open from March to December, during which 12 exhibitions representing Swedish contemporary art are organized. The museum’s interpretation of contemporary art include traditional image -based artistic expressions as well as fashion, design and craftwork.
Shop
Inside the museum you will find our shop which offers cultural magazines, books on art and books about Dalsland, exclusive Swedish crafts, games and puzzles for children as well as posters and self-produced art cards. The supply in the museum shop varies during the year's exhibition periods with news linked to the exhibitions theme. We also have a small shop in the café where we sell tea, honey, postcards, etc.
Sculpture park
In the museum park there are a number of sculptures and some walking paths. Down by the lake you will find our own guest harbor where you can take a dip. There is also an outdoor scene where we invite musicians to play. It's also works as a scene for taking group photos, wedding pictures or for play and performance. The frame, “Frame the nature” is made by artist Eric Langert. Our chickens and bees also live in the park.

Must be carried in the hand. You also have the option of leaving your backpack at our reception.
DOGS
Dogs may not stay inside the art museum or in the cafe (except guide dogs) but may stay outside if they are attached. For thirsty dogs there is water.

Prices for guiding:
Guiding up to 30 people 900 SEK/group.
Guiding more than 30 people 1500 SEK/group.
A guided tour takes about 35-45 minutes.
Extra open for groups outside the museum opening hours.
550 SEK/ hour, minimum (1 1/2 hours).
We welcome large groups. If you contact us before, we can offer you guidance, food etc.
Parking for buses is adjacent to the museum.
Café Bonaparte
Finally it's underway!
The expansion and renovation of the kitchen in our café is now in full swing.
We will be premiering and opening the café for the season at the end of April.
Welcome back to Café Bonaparte later this spring.
Museum café Bonaparte is run by the museum and is located right next to the museum in a building that used to be a utility hotel built around 1830. The café has room for 50 guests indoors and about 40 outdoors. On the glass veranda and from the outdoor dining area, our guests have a fantastic view of Lake Spången, which is part of Dalsland's canal.
