-- Additional police are being deployed to areas of Bulgaria that have high road accident rates, following a recent increase in accidents, Interior Ministry chief secretary Ivailo Ivanov said. Since the start of 2019, a total of 594 people had died in accidents on the Balkan country´s roads, nine more than at the same time last year (Trud, Monitor, Sega)

-- The leadership of the largest opposition Socialist Party (BSP) approved rules for direct election of a party leader. For the first time the socialist leader will be elected in a direct vote by all party members, or some 100,000 people (Duma, Sega)

-- Dozens of nurses protested in Sofia downtown, blaming the authorities for doing nothing to solve the problems in healthcare. They claimed the healthcare system was severely understaffed by nurses and other professionals as a result of a mass exodus to the richer European countries while few that remain were overworked and underpaid (Monitor, Trud)
