76ers' Butler to miss third straight game
Jimmy Butler has been ruled of Saturday night's game against the Denver Nuggets due to his injured right wrist, Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown told reporters at the team's midday shootaround in Denver.
Butler visited a specialist in Los Angeles on Friday and it was determined that he has a sprained wrist. This will be the third game Butler has missed since suffering the injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 19.
Brown told reporters that Butler could return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Philadelphia will also be without star center Joel Embiid and forward Wilson Chandler against the Nuggets.
Brown said Friday that Embiid's absence was scheduled for rest but also added that recent back tightness experienced by Embiid was a factor. Chandler injured his hamstring in Wednesday's victory against the San Antonio Spurs.
Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic returns from a one-game suspension for leaving the bench area when teammate Mason Plumlee and Utah's Derrick Favors exchanged shoves on Wednesday. Jokic served the penalty Friday when the Nuggets routed the Phoenix Suns.
