Angels place OF Upton (finger) on DL
The Los Angeles Angels placed outfielder Justin Upton on the 10-day disabled list with a lacerated left index finger, the team announced prior to Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The move is retroactive to Sunday.
Upton is batting .267 with 26 homers and 74 RBIs in 122 games.
Upton, who turns 31 on Saturday, sat out Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. The Angels were off on Monday.
The four-time All-Star is 17-for-44 (.386) with five homers and 13 RBIs in his last 11 appearances.
The Angels recalled outfielder Jabari Blash from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. Blash is 2-for-23 with 14 strikeouts in 14 games with Los Angeles this season, but the 29-year-old is batting .321 with 26 homers and 62 RBIs in 76 games for the Bees.
