Penguins sign Simon, two others

The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to deals with three of their players on Monday, including forward Dominik Simon.

Simon and forward Daniel Sprong agreed to two-year deals at an average value of $750,000 annually.

Defenseman Kevin Czuczman re-signed with the club on a one-year, two-way contract worth $650,000 at the NHL level.

Simon, 23, played in 33 games for the Penguins last season and has four goals and eight assists. He also played 21 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League and had 17 points (four goals, 13 assists).

Sprong, 21, was an AHL All-Star and had 32 goals and 33 assists in 65 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He played in eight games for the Penguins and had two goals and one assist and has played in 26 total NHL games, with four goals and one assist.

Czuczman, 27, had four goals and 31 assists in 71 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He was briefly recalled to the Penguins but didn't play in any games, but he does have 13 games of NHL experience with the New York Islanders from 2013-14, when he recorded two assists.
