Tigers place 3B Candelario on DL
The Detroit Tigers placed third baseman Jeimer Candelario on the 10-day disabled list due to a wrist injury, the team announced Monday.
Candelario is dealing with tendinitis in his left wrist.
Infielder Dawel Lugo was recalled from Triple-A Toledo to fill the roster opening.
Candelario is batting .272 with 16 RBIs in 37 games for the Tigers. He is tied for the team lead with five homers.
Lugo was batting .284 with one homer and 12 RBIs at Toledo. The 23-year-old has yet to play in a major league game.
