Reports: Jags to release WR Hurns
The Jacksonville Jaguars will release wide receiver Allen Hurns in a move that will save them $7 million against the cap, according to multiple reports.
Hurns signed a four-year, $40 million extension with Jacksonville in 2016 that included $20 million guaranteed. He had 39 catches for 484 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Undrafted out of Miami (Fla.), Hurns has 189 catches for 2,669 yards and 21 touchdowns across his four NFL seasons, all with the Jags. He had a career year in 2015, amassing 1,031 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
When free agency began last week, the Jaguars lost receiver Allen Robinson to the Bears. The Jaguars opted not to use the prohibitive franchise designation to retain Robinson's first refusal rights in free agency.
Jacksonville signed former Indianapolis Colts wideout Donte Moncrief and re-signed Marqise Lee.
