RATES

The Monetary Policy Council is to decide at its monthly meeting on the interest rates level, presently at 1.5 percent. The decision is expected early afternoon.

ENERGY

Poland's Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, wants to limit the number of big energy firms to two from present four, the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported. PGE may join forces with Energa, while Enea with Tauron.

PKN ORLEN

Newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer Daniel Obajtek started his tenure at state-run refinery PKN Orlen dismissing managers at the HR, PR, marketing and management board office departments, the Puls Biznesu daily reported.

FALCK

Polish parliament approved on Tuesday a law that will eliminate non-state companies from the emergency medical services market, such as the dominant Danish firm Falck, Gazeta the Wyborcza daily reported.
