London copper flat ahead of Chinadata
MELBOURNE, Oct 13 (Reuters) - London copper was flat on Thursday in spite of a stronger dollar, and ahead of a bevvy of China trade data that was expected to cast fresh light on demand into the end of the year.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange traded unchanged at $4,814 a tonne by 0129 GMT, after ending flat in the previous session.
* Shanghai Futures Exchange copper also traded unchanged at 37,930 yuan a tonne. But Shanghai aluminium rose by 1 percent to 12,760 yuan, its loftiest since May 2015, helped by a crunch on supply of metal.
* The Hong Kong bourse has appointed the former general manager of the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange as the head of its new commodities platform in mainland China, it said on Wednesday.
* China hopes to boost private investment by improving financial services for small enterprises, its powerful state planner said in a document on Wednesday.
* The German economy will lose some steam in the second half of the year after its robust performance in the first half, the Economy Ministry said on Wednesday, putting a damper on growth hopes after better-than-expected economic data.
* Several voting Federal Reserve policymakers judged a rate hike would be warranted "relatively soon" if the U.S. economy continued to strengthen but doubts on inflation remained, according to the minutes of the Fed's September policy meeting released on Wednesday.

MARKETS NEWS
* Asian stocks held near three-week lows and the greenback consolidated recent gains on Thursday after minutes of the last U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting indicated a December rate increase was still on the cards.
