National Football League roundup
Feb 4 (The Sports Xchange) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced the league will institute a Rooney Rule for women when it comes to the hiring of NFL executive positions.
Goodell made the revelation at NFL Women's Summit, an event associated with Super Bowl 50 in which people associated with the NFL were in attendance to discuss issues affecting women in sports.
The Rooney Rule requires NFL teams to interview at least one minority candidate for an open coaching position. It was instituted in 2003.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is still upset about the hit delivered by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict and the comments made by Bengals cornerback Adam Jones.
Brown suffered a concussion as a result of Burfict's hit and could not play in the Steelers' game the next week against Denver.
Jones had accused Brown of faking the injury, claiming Brown even winked at him at the time. Jones later apologized on social media, but Brown is still upset.
"I lost tremendous respect for him when he went on record saying that I winked at him," Brown said on PFT Live. "I was unconscious, I didn't really even remember what had transpired so for him to say something like that is totally a coward, it's idiotic."
