Poland - Factors to Watch Aug 3

PMI

Markit and HSBC are due to publish Poland's manufacturing PMI index for July at 0700 GMT.

SWISS FRANCS

Banks should cover part of the cost of the Swiss franc rise against the zloty which hits FX mortgage holders' financial situation, the antimonopoly office head told Rzeczpospolita daily.

PKO BP

Poland's biggest bank PKO is considering buying a small web-based cash loans service, Puls Biznesu daily said, quoting an unnamed source.

ZLOTY RATE

Polish currency will be quoted at 3.82 against the dollar, 4.15 to euro and 3.92 to Swiss franc at the end of August, according to a poll conducted among 12 analysts by Puls Biznesu.

ATLAS

Privately-owned construction material producer Atlas plans to buy a company operating in the same sector in Germany or Britain, and is ready to spend 100 million zlotys ($26.49 million) on it, Atlas chief executive told Rzeczpospolita.

COAL

Coal share in Poland's energy production may fall to one third from 52 percent in 20 years' time, deputy economy minister told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.

NATO BASES

It will be very difficult to reach an agreement regarding a permanent presence of NATO military forces in Poland, Britain's Minister of State for Europe David Lidington told Rzeczpospolita daily.
