Romania - Factors to watch on July 22

BUCHAREST, July 22 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Wednesday.

ROSIA MONTANA

Canada's Gabriel Resources said on Tuesday it has filed a request for arbitration against Romania before the World Bank's international centre for settlement of investment disputes over the development of an open cast gold mine in the small Romanian town of Rosia Montana.

UNEMPLOYMENT

Romania's unemployment rate was virtually unchanged on the month at 4.94 percent in June, data from the National Employment Agency showed.

ENERGY

Photon Energy NV said on Tuesday its unit Photon Energy Operations will operate three power plants with capacity of 11 MW based in the northwestern Romanian city of Oradea.

TAX AUTHORITY

Romania's tax collection agency has frozen the accounts of state television TVR and of the state firm for ground public transport in capital Bucharest over unpaid debts and said it will do the same for large taxpayers which have longstanding debts.

POWER EXPORTS

Romania's electricity exports rose nearly 11 percent on the year in the first five months to 4.2 GW, European gird operating data showed. Ziarul Financiar
