Poland - Factors to Watch Sept 22

WARSAW STOCK EXCHANGE

The Warsaw bourse is ready to grow further organically, but still believes it may start cooperation with Vienna stock exchange, Warsaw Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer Pawel Tamborski told Rzeczpospolita daily.

Tamborski added the Warsaw stock exchange wants to announce its plans towards the Vienna stock exchange in the nearest future.

PGNIG

Polish dominant gas importer PGNiG has asked Russia's Gazprom to increase supply of gas to fill up Polish storages, according to Rzeczpospolita.

ALIOR

Polish medium-tier lender Alior Bank has started collecting deposits in Germany. In three weeks the bank found clients ready to entrust it 2 million euros ($2.57 million), Puls Biznesu daily reported.

SANCTIONS

There is no other way than sanctions if Russia is not ready to talk about peace in a diplomatic way, Poland's foreign affairs minister designate Grzegorz Schetyna told Polska the Times daily.

CERAMIKA NOWA GALA

Tiling producer Ceramika Nowa Gala is registering a fall in sales due to, among others, the crisis in Ukraine and is trying to compensate for this by increasing sales to southern Europe, Ceramika's Deputy Chief Executive Pawel Gornicki told Parkiet daily.

SHALE GAS

A bill on exploration, extraction and transport of hydrocarbons will enter the phase of intergovernmental negotiations this week in a move aimed at reviving investment in shale gas in Poland, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
