UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Dec 27

Dec 27 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is expected to open higher on Friday, with futures up 0.42%.

* OIL: Oil prices were little changed on the day but were set for a weekly rise amid optimism that economic stimulus efforts will prompt a recovery in China, the world's biggest oil importer.

* METALS: Base metal prices were mixed, moving within tight ranges as the strong dollar limited gains, although copper found support from supply tightness in copper concentrate.

* GOLD: Gold edged lower in light trading on the day, but was poised for a weekly gain, as investors awaited clues on the U.S. economy to anticipate the Federal Reserve's interest rate path for 2025 and President-elect Donald Trump's policies.

* The UK's benchmark FTSE 100 rose for a second day on Tuesday, although trading volume was thin ahead of the two-day Christmas break.
