VALLEY PEAKS IN FAIRMONT
Lyn Valley and Rainbow Rock gave Mark Johnston a one-two in the Fairmont Handicap at Goodwood.
Joe Fanning brought Lyn Valley (14-1) through to pass the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned pair of Madeed and Insaany inside the furlong to give Johnston a sixth winner in this race.
Rainbow Rock came from last place under 5lb claimer Cam Hardie to finish with a flourish and get to within half a length of the winner at the line.
Madeed was another half a length away in third.
Fanning said: "He jumped and travelled well, but I never felt like I was going to win the race."
