MAN HELD IN SYRIA TERROR CASH PROBE

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raising money for terrorism in Syria.

Officers from Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism team held the suspect in west London today and are searching an address in the south of the capital.

The man, who is being questioned at a police station in south London, was arrested on suspicion of arranging funding for the purpose of terrorism.

He was held as part of an investigation into suspected terrorist activity in Syria.

Hundreds of British would-be jihadis have travelled to the war-torn Middle Eastern state in recent years to join extremist fighters, with some aiming to be trained in terrorist tactics.
