POLICE PROBE CITY HATE CRIME SPREE
Police are investigating a hate crime spree in Belfast.
Houses and cars were damaged in the series of racist attacks in the east of the city last night.
Paint was thrown at a car in the area of Rosebery Street and all of the windows of the vehicle were smashed.
Racist slogans were also painted on a gable wall at the junction of the Elmdale Street and Bately Street area.
A group of males were reportedly seen running off towards the Ravenscroft area following that incident.
The windows of a house in Chobham Street were smashed and paint thrown at the house.
Racist graffiti was reportedly painted on a gable wall in the area.
Police also received a report of damage to a window at a house in Bloomfield Avenue and damage was also caused to a silver Fiat Punto car parked in Ravenscroft Street.
All the incidents took place some time before 10.50pm last night.
A PSNI spokesman said: "Enquiries are continuing and at this stage police are investigating a link between these incidents and are treating each of them as a hate crime."
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
