MAN 'IMPERSONATED POLICE OFFICER'
A man will appear in court today charged with impersonating a police officer by allegedly driving a vehicle fitted with flashing blue lights and a siren.
Michael Allen, 35, of Northampton, was arrested in May at his home in the town.
A Volvo car was also seized by officers, Northamptonshire Police said.
A force spokesman said Allen had been charged with making a statement suggesting he was a police constable, using a vehicle on the road with a blue warning light fitted, using a motor vehicle fitted with a siren and using a motor vehicle without insurance.
Allen, of Axe Head Road, Briar Hill, will appear before Northampton Magistrates Court.
