POLICE RELEASE IMAGES AFTER FIGHT

Police have released 11 images of people they want to speak to in connection with violent clashes which broke out during a March for England protest.

Two groups were involved in the fight where tables, chairs, pint glasses and bottles were thrown at police by people stood outside The Dorset pub on the corner of Gardner Street and North Road, Brighton.

The fight is believed to be connected to the march where hundreds of nationalists and anti-fascists paraded through the city to the seafront on April 27, Sussex Police said.

Detective Inspector Vicki Harris said: "Our attention has been focused on this nasty incident which happened in front of a lot of people out shopping and we are determined to catch these people.

"This behaviour was completely unacceptable and we will not tolerate it in our city.

"We know someone will recognise these men and women and we are appealing to those people to give us a name.

"Some of these people we believe to be from the Sheffield area, however some of them could be from elsewhere in the country.

"On the day we made 27 arrests connected to some disorder in the city and six people have been charged.

"A further six were fined or cautioned and we are determined to bring those who were also involved to justice."

If anyone has any details on the fight, which broke out just after 2pm, or recognises anyone, contact Sussex Police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Bearwood, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
