WOLVERHAMPTON: Man due in court accused of murdering pensioners. Leo Barnes 32, has yet to enter a plea to the murders of Cynthia Beamond and Philip Silverstone, whose bodies were found in the West Midlands and London. Barnes, of Runcorn Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, will appear in court alongside 24-year-old Chantelle Moran-Stokes, who is also accused of murdering Mrs Beamond. Preliminary hearing. NOTTINGHAM: Police officer facing sentence over misconduct in public office. Intelligence officer Pc Simon Abell, based at Sutton-in-Ashfield, has admitted sending sexually inappropriate messages to a vulnerable victim of crime. WALES: Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's summer visit to Wales. This year's Wales Week ends with the Prince of Wales visiting the mid-Wales market town of Brecon, where he will make a short walk through the town centre on his way to visit the historic, and recently restored, Plough Chapel.

LONDON: Provisional sentencing of a former police officer who pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office. Sam Azouelos, 34, of Finchley, north London, admitted the charge between July 4 2006 and April 29 2010. At an earlier hearing a judge granted him unconditional bail but warned him that he faced jail. LONDON: Sentencing of Michael Piggin. Piggin, 18, and two other teenagers, who cannot be named, had admitted charges of possessing petrol bombs and component parts of pipe bombs for the use of explosive devices. He has also admitted possessing the component parts for improvised explosive devices (IEDs). BIRMINGHAM: Telecoms engineer in court accused of murdering ex-partner. Andrew Leigh, 42, from Sutton Coldfield, was charged earlier this week with the murder of Luan Leigh and the attempted murder of two children, who cannot be identified. Preliminary hearing. LONDON: Rolf Harris to be sentenced. The 84-year-old, once a much-loved artist and musician, was unanimously convicted on Monday of 12 sex charges involving four women, most while they were underage. 1000 CAMBRIDGE: Paediatrician accused of child sex offences. Dr Myles Bradbury, 41, of Herringswell, Suffolk, a paediatric haematologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, is alleged to have carried out the offences between December 2011 and December 2013. The counts related to boys aged between 11 and 15. He also faces two charges of making indecent images of a child and one count of voyeurism. 1000 LONDON: Sentencing of two brothers who travelled to a Syrian terror training camp. Mohommod Hassin Nawaz, 30, and his sibling Hamza Nawaz, 24, both of Dirleton Road in Stratford, east London, pleaded guilty to conspiring to attend a training camp. Mohommod also admitted having ammunition for an AK-type gun. They were arrested at Dover port on September 16 after travelling to Syria. In custody. Old Bailey.

Lee Wright, 27, to make first court appearance accused of possession of a fighting dog in contravention of the Dangerous Dogs Act and also conspiracy to supply cannabis. The Stod Fold Brewing Company aims to enter the Guinness Book of Records by erecting the world's largest glass of beer during Tour de France at noon on Sunday, July 6, on the route of stage 2 at The Fleece Countryside Inn in Ripponden, West Yorkshire.
