Man killed in freak golf course accident
A man has been killed in a freak accident on a golf course on NSW's south coast.
The man, aged in his 50s, was playing with three others on a course in Mollymook when struck on the head by a falling tree branch.
The other men were uninjured and assisted him until emergency services arrived.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man but he died at the scene.
"Bystanders did a courageous job commencing CPR on the patient until paramedics arrived," NSW Ambulance Inspector Faye Stockman said in a statement.
"Unfortunately the man suffered a significant head injury and went into traumatic cardiac arrest and died at the scene."
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
