Man charged over machete stabbing

A man has been charged for stabbing another man in the head with a machete in NSW's Riverina region.

Police allege the 34-year-old man attended a home on Clarence Street in Junee on May 14 where he attacked a 51 year old man, with a machete.

The accused also sustained stab wounds after allegedly being struck with the machete in the abdomen by the older man.

Police arrested the younger man at a home in Junee on Sunday and he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail and is expected to face Wagga Wagga Local Court on Monday.

Inquiries are ongoing.
