Mums to make do with long distance love

MOTHER'S DAY 2020 STATE BY STATE:

NSW

* No restrictions have been eased but two adults with children may visit another household, with separate, staggered visits allowed throughout the day.

VICTORIA

* No restrictions have been eased with only essential travel allowed

* No visits to other households except for children of two-home families and partners

QUEENSLAND

* Up to five people in one family may visit another house from Sunday, and they can travel up to 50km from their residence to visit parks and have picnics.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

* Gatherings of up to 10 people, with social distancing, are allowed

* Non-essential travel outside the home is discouraged

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

* Up to 10 people can hold a gathering, and beaches and parks remain open, but people must practise social distancing.

* Inter-regional travel is banned.

TASMANIA

* No restrictions have been lifted with a ban still in place on visiting other houses.

* No more than two people from different households may meet or gather.

NORTHERN TERRITORY

* People can have visitors and gather outdoors for non-contact recreational activities, so long as social distancing is applied.

* Retail and window shopping is allowed, parks and public swimming pools are open and group exercise is permitted.
