Pedestrian hit by car in Qld has died

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car as he crossed the road in Queensland.

The 58-year-old Mornington man was struck at about 6:20pm on Wednesday in Mount Isa, and he was taken to hospital where later died, police say.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Healy man, was not injured during the incident.

Police believe the pedestrian may have been with another man who left the scene before officers arrived and they have appealed to anyone who has any information is come forward.

Investigations continue.
