Man charged over collision death
A man has been charged on Tuesday over a June 2019 fatal collision in a western Melbourne suburb that resulted in the death of a 71-year-old woman.
The charged 40-year-old Tarneit man was driving a vehicle in Wyndham North with three others, a five-year-old girl, a 37-year old woman and the dead 71-year-old, police said.
On June 16, the vehicle crashed against another vehicle being driven by a 68-year-old Newport man near the intersection of Boundary Road and Davis Road.
All five people involved in the accident were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 71-year-old woman died in hospital, police said.
The male driver has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, careless driving and fail to give way at intersection.
He's been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
