Free public transport for Vic revellers
Victorian commuters will be able to take public transport for free on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
Trains, trams, buses and V/Line services will be free for 24 hours from 3am on Christmas Day until 3am on Boxing Day, running to a Sunday timetable, the state government said on Friday.
Services will also be free for 12 hours from 6pm on New Year's Eve, with trains every 8 to 10 minutes until 1.45am and trams every 5-10 minutes until 2am to get revellers home after midnight fireworks.
