Qld bat first in one-day cricket final

Western Australia have won the toss and sent Queensland in to bat in the domestic one-day final in Brisbane on Tuesday.

The Bulls have resisted the temptation to rush all-rounder Ben Cutting into the side but have included batsman Sam Heazlett who returns from a broken finger.

Queensland skipper Usman Khawaja will be out to make a statement at Allan Border Field after being overlooked from the Test squad to play Pakistan.

In his sole knock to date since being snubbed by Test selectors, Khawaja struck an unbeaten 86 against Tasmania to ensure the Bulls secured home advantage for the one-day final.

Both the Bulls and Western Australia finished the one-day regular fixtures with a 5-2 win-loss record but Queensland earned hosting rights due to a superior net run rate.

Test squad reserves Michael Neser (Queensland) and Cameron Bancroft (Western Australia) have been released to contest the one-day final before heading to Adelaide ahead of Friday's second Test against Pakistan.

WA spinner Ashton Agar has recovered from a head knock to chime into the visitors' attack on Tuesday.
