NSW carer faces 12 more stealing charges

Additional charges have been laid against a woman accused of stealing jewellery and cash worth more than $40,000 from the homes of the dying and disabled across Sydney.

The 46-year-old Blacktown woman was hired by several support agencies as a carer for the terminally ill and those with disabilities. She faced a Sydney court on October 10 over the thefts from the properties in Wiley Park, Bexley, Drummoyne and Doonside.

Detectives have now laid an additional 12 charges, including five counts of steal property in dwelling/house, four counts of making a false or misleading statement, two counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and having goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen.

The woman is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.
