Man charged over attack on Qld couple
A man accused of shooting a woman in the head and bashing her husband with a hammer because they owed him money will front a Townsville court charged with attempted murder.
The 47-year-old man is also facing a string of other charges over the attack at the couple's Rangewood home on Wednesday morning.
They include acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and possession of an unregistered firearm.
Police say the alleged attacker claimed the pair owed him money over a failed business venture.
The woman, 40, remains in hospital in a stable condition after she was shot in the side of the head but managed to crawl under a car to shelter from her attacker.
Her husband, 53, was attacked with a hammer when he came to her aid.
A tradesman who went to the woman's aid was also injured.
The alleged attacker is due to front the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday.
