Man charged after NSW hit and run death

A 57-year-old man has been charged after a pedestrian died in an alleged hit and run in the NSW Riverina region.

The body of a 51-year-old man was discovered by a passing motorist at Glenfield Park in Wagga Wagga on October 26.

NSW Police, who were called to the scene shortly after 10pm, believe the victim had been at a function earlier that day and was walking on the road when he was hit by a vehicle that didn't stop.

The accused Wagga Wagga man was on Monday charged with failing to stop and assist after a crash causing death.

He is due to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on December 18.
