Pedestrian, 79, dies in Adelaide accident

An elderly pedestrian has been killed on an Adelaide street after he was hit by a motorcycle.

The 79-year-old man was struck on Grand Junction Road in Northfield just after 9pm on Saturday. He died at the scene.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His pillion passenger was not injured.

Meanwhile, emergency services were called to a separate serious crash on London Rd after a car hit a power pole and caught alight about 10.45pm.

London Rd is currently closed to all traffic and diversions are in place.
