Ute driver charged over Sydney hit-and-run

A ute driver who allegedly ran a red light and struck a motorbike rider in a hit-and-run in Sydney's northwest is facing numerous charges over the crash.

Police say the male motorist did not stop after hitting the 63-year-old motorcyclist in Rouse Hill on Thursday night when he drove through a red right turn arrow.

The male rider suffered fractures to his right leg and ribs when he was thrown across the intersection of Windsor and Schofields Roads.

The 26-year-old ute driver is now facing charges including dangerous driving, negligent driving and failing to stop, and was granted bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on September 24.
