NSW top cop's son nabbed drink-driving

The son of the most senior police officer in NSW has allegedly been caught drink-driving on a suspended licence in Sydney's south.

Jacob Fuller, son of NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller, was charged after he allegedly blew 0.031 at a roadside random breath testing site on the Princes Highway in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Fuller is on his P-plates, which carry a zero-alcohol limit.

In a statement to AAP on Tuesday, NSW Police said a 20-year-old man had pulled up short of the breath testing site, prompting officers to approach his vehicle.

After he returned a positive roadside breath test a check of the man's provisional licence revealed it was suspended.

Fuller was charged with driving with a special range PCA and driving while suspended. He will face Sutherland Local Court on October 17.
