Tom Trbojevic injury scare for Manly
Manly have been dealt a potentially savage blow a fortnight out from the NRL's finals, with fullback Tom Trbojevic suffering a possible pectoral injury against Melbourne.
Trbojevic appeared to be hurt just before going into a regulation tackle at Lottoland on Saturday, and left the field immediately.
Initial concerns surrounded his left pectoral muscle, although Manly will likely await scans before confirming the news.
If a serious injury is diagnosed Trbojevic will likely miss the remainder of the season.
That would be a horror setback for Manly, given the Kangaroos star is a key attacking option.
Trbojevic has already suffered two separate hamstring injuries this season, but has only lost one of the 13 games he has played at NRL or State of Origin level in 2019.
He has set up nine tries in 11 games this year, busted through 55 tackles and averages 163 running metres a match to underline his importance to the Sea Eagles.
