Three new measles cases in Victoria
A nine-month-old boy is one of three new measles cases in Victoria.
The other patients include a man in his 20s who contracted measles while in the Philippines and a woman in her 40s who got the illness while travelling in Thailand and Singapore, the state health department confirmed on Friday.
Both adults and the baby have received treatment and are recovering.
"There are a large number of ongoing international measles outbreaks in Asia, Europe and America," chief health officer Dr Brett Sutton said.
"People who are planning overseas travel should ensure they have received vaccinations appropriate to travel, including an MMR vaccine if they do not have a history of two previous MMR vaccinations."
Shoppers who visited Ringwood's Eastland centre on July 20 and from July 23 to 26 have been urged to check for symptoms of the contagious disease after two of the affected people visited that location.
They also attended a conference at the Phillip Island Adventure resort on July 27 and 28, and a restaurant in Cowes on July 27.
So far this year there have been 29 confirmed cases of measles in Victoria.
In almost all cases people are not fully immunised and travelled overseas or been in contact with overseas travellers.
