Pangai and Luke charged by NRL judiciary

International forwards Tevita Pangai and Issac Luke face untimely stints on the NRL sideline for foul play as Brisbane and the Warriors launch respective late-season finals bids.

Broncos lock Pangai was charged with a grade two careless high tackle on Gold Coast winger Phillip Sami which will earn him one or two weeks out. The longer punishment would result from a not guilty plea which failed at the NRL judiciary.

Warriors hooker Luke has copped a grade two dangerous throw charge for his tackle on Parramatta half Dylan Brown and faces a two-match suspension if he pleads guilty. The ban would stretch to three weeks if the Kiwis international lost a judicial appeal.

Manly forward Jake Trbojevic is clear to face Newcastle next week if he doesn't contest a grade one dangerous throw charge for his lifting tackle on Jahrome Hughes during the golden point period of their win over Melbourne.
