Alcohol-fuelled violence drops in Qld

Assaults, ambulance callouts and Queensland hospital admissions for facial fractures have dropped since moves were made to address alcohol-fuelled violence, a report has found.

The state government is claiming a win after an independent assessment of its measures, which include scanning patron IDs at pubs and clubs, found some signs they were making a difference.

But Attorney General Yvette D'Ath said the government did not accept all of the report's recommendations, like restricting trading hours for casinos and forcing them to scan IDs.
