Injury to sideline surfer Florence for '19
American John John Florence looks set to miss the rest of the 2019 World Surf League tour due to a knee injury.
Florence has announced he will not compete on the next leg of the tour at Jeffreys Bay in South Africa after rupturing his ACL during competition in Rio earlier this month.
In a social media post the world No.1 - who has won two of five events in 2019 - said he will opt for surgery on his knee and is "pulling out of J-Bay and likely the rest of the CT season".
