Staff struck in face with knife during row

A woman in a Sydney tobacconist shop has escaped losing an eye after a kitchen knife was thrown at her during an argument, with police hunting the teen perpetrator.

A male, aged between 16 and 18, is said to have entered the shop in Parramatta, in Sydney's west, about 7.45pm on Monday. He approached the counter and began rowing with the employee, aged in her 30s.

The teen is said to have thrown the knife at the woman, hitting her in the face and just missing her eye. She has been taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
