Broncos hooker McCullough to see surgeon

Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough is set to miss at least a few NRL matches - and most likely Queensland's State of Origin opener - after scans confirmed a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury.

McCullough suffered the knee injury during training with the Broncos on Monday and will meet with a surgeon later this week as the club explores all options.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Broncos were unable to give an accurate timeframe on his recovery, saying only he will "certainly be missing for some weeks".
