Labor digs in behind Melbourne candidate

Labor is being accused of double standards for refusing to sack an embattled candidate who shared rape jokes and made offensive remarks about women.

Luke Creasey, who is running for the seat of Melbourne at the federal election, apologised for the social media posts but has not been forced to resign.

"It was a long time ago. He fessed up and said they were wrong and dumb. There was no cover up or anything else here," Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese told Nine's Today Show on Friday.
