Dark days for NZ with mosque attacks: PM

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says it is too soon to say how many people have been slain in multiple shootings in Christchurch on one of the nation's darkest days.

"I would describe it as an unprecedented act of violence, an act that has absolutely no place in New Zealand, " she said of the attacks on at least one mosque in in the city.

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said there were multiple fatalities from a number of locations, one the Masjid Al Noor mosque in central Christchurch.
