Dennis tops qualifying in Bathurst 12 Hour
Aston Martin and Jake Dennis have upset some of the more fancied outfits to take provisional pole position at the Bathurst 12 Hour.
Brit Dennis put the Vantage GT3 on top in qualifying at Mount Panorama ahead of Supercars' driver David Reynolds in a Mercedes AMG GT GT3 with Germany's Maro Engel third, also in an AMG GT GT3.
Dutch driver Yelmer Buurman was fourth, also in an AMG, with Porsche factory driver and young Australian star Matt Campbell fifth in a 911 GT3-R.
Rafaelle Marciello, who was fastest in practice yesterday, just made the shoot in ninth.
Reynolds was the only current Supercars driver to make Saturday afternoon's top 10 shootout, with Chaz Mostert 15th in a BMW, Jamie Whincup 19th and Lee Holdsworth 24th.
The top 10 shootout takes place at 4.40pm (AEDT).
